What is AI Marketing?

At its simplest, AI marketing is using artificial intelligence to improve your marketing efforts.

This can involve several different activities, from using an AI program to identify potential customers to using it to personalize messages, guide your content strategy, and provide better customer service.

In many cases, it simply refers to the use of automation to improve the efficiency of creating your marketing assets and the effectiveness of those assets in achieving whatever goal or goals you have in mind.

However, the term can also refer to more advanced artificial intelligence applications, such as using it to create dynamic and high-converting content from scratch.

Whatever form it takes, AI marketing is a rapidly evolving field redefining how businesses operate.

The Benefits of Artificial Intelligence Marketing

It's no secret that artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming a wide range of industries, from healthcare to finance. And one of the most exciting areas where AI has a significant impact is marketing!

Here are the three significant benefits of artificial intelligence in marketing.

1. Increased efficiency and effectiveness in marketing campaigns

These days, campaigns in marketing are getting more and more sophisticated.

Thanks to advances in machine learning, algorithms can identify vast amounts of data and identify the topics and keywords that are the most likely to resonate with your audience.

This allows marketers to customize their campaigns to a much greater degree than ever before. As a result, we're seeing increased efficiency and effectiveness in campaigns across the board.

2. More targeted and personalized marketing messages

Thanks to the power of AI, marketers can now create more targeted and personalized campaigns.

In the past, campaigns were often based on broad assumptions about a company's target audience. But with AI, marketers can now analyze vast amounts of data to identify specific patterns and trends.

This allows them to create more targeted campaigns far more likely to resonate with their target audience, leading to higher-converting and more profitable campaigns.

3. Quicker generation of high-quality content

AI is also changing the way marketers create content. With the help of AI-powered tools, marketers can now quickly generate high-quality content tailored to their target audience's needs.

This is a far cry from when marketers had to rely on manual processes to generate content, which was often time-consuming and resulted in low-quality output.

In Summary

AI is having a major impact on marketing, and it will only become more critical in the future. Marketers who embrace AI will be well-positioned to succeed in the future.

Our Three Favourite Artificial Intelligence Marketing Tools

In the modern marketing world, staying ahead of the curve is essential. That's why more and more businesses are turning to artificial intelligence for help with their marketing.

Here are our three favourite artificial intelligence marketing tools that save us hours of work every day!

Surfer SEO - Search Engine Optimization Tool

Using search engine optimization (SEO) software is critical for any business that wants to become and remain visible online. However, the ever-changing landscape of SEO can make it difficult to keep up with the latest best practices.

Surfer SEO is a tool that takes the guesswork out of SEO, helping businesses like ours to quickly and easily optimize their website for higher search rankings.

Surfer achieves this by using artificial intelligence to analyze data from Google, identifying the most effective keywords and other ranking factors for a given industry, niche, audience, or domain. It then provides clear, step-by-step instructions on implementing those ranking factors on a website or within the content you want to create.

For us, Surfer is the first step in our content creation process. It's where we discover ideas, dial in our keyword strategy, and ensure the content we are creating is not only in demand but would be able to rank on Google.

As a result, Surfer SEO is an invaluable tool for us, serving as a true north to our content marketing process and saving us hours in keyword research and competitor analysis.

If you want to try Surfer SEO, you can sign up for a free trial here!

Jasper.ai - Copywriting Tool

Jasper.ai promises to make copywriting easier than ever before. And boy, do they keep their promise.

Jasper uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to create original, creative content. The software is tailored toward content marketing and copywriting, providing more than 50 templates to help generate a variety of copy, including blog posts, Google ads, Facebook ads, cold emails, outlines, and so on.

Input what you need, and Jasper will do the rest. Best of all, since the software is constantly learning and improving, you can be confident that your content will improve over time.

It's arguably the software that saves our team the most time, cutting our time spent on copywriting by 50% on average. Blog posts that used to take us 10 hours to write now take 5, and Facebook ads that used to take 10 minutes to write now take 2. Keep in mind this is all without sacrificing the quality of the content written. If anything, it's allowing us to produce the most engaging and exciting content we've ever written.

Although we've heard a lot of hesitancy surrounding AI copywriting, we couldn't be bigger fans of it. Once dialled in, your process becomes an enriching experience, allowing you to produce great content at scale.

If you're serious about saving time on your copywriting while producing equal or better quality content, you should undoubtedly try Jasper. You can sign up for a free trial here!

PS - Jasper integrates with Surfer SEO, so if you really want to boost your content marketing productivity, consider trying both. That's what we do, and the two complement each other beautifully.

ActiveCampaign - Email Marketing Tool

ActiveCampaign is a powerful email marketing tool that helps businesses to stay in touch with their customers and build relationships.

With ActiveCampaign, businesses can automate their email marketing campaigns, making it easy to send timely and relevant messages to their subscribers. In addition, ActiveCampaign provides a wealth of features that businesses can use to engage their customers further, including automated follow-up messages, personalized content, and detailed tracking reports.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning come into play with ActiveCampaign's analysis of your emails sent, phone calls received, and sales made.

By crunching these numbers, ActiveCampaign can start providing insights on the likelihood of a specific lead becoming a customer or the best time to send an email to a particular audience. While it's tough for a human to make these calculations accurately, it's a simple task for machine learning.

The result is a much more efficient and effective email marketing strategy. The power of artificial intelligence allows us to focus on the leads that are the most likely to close, send emails when we know the most people in our audience will open them, create the most impactful email subjects, and capitalize on dynamic automations that optimize the customer journey depending on the actions taken by a lead.

ActiveCampaign is an essential tool for any business that wants to build strong relationships with its target audience, leads, and customers through email marketing. Again, if you want to poke around and try ActiveCampaign, you can sign up for a free trial here!

Businesses can use these three tools to ensure their content marketing is as effective as possible while shaving hours off their content creation and optimization processes.

So if you're looking to boost your marketing, consider using AI!

How We Used Artificial Intelligence to Write This Post

As we mentioned, many businesses are still hesitant to invest in machine learning or artificial intelligence, but the truth is that marketing AI can be very powerful.

When used correctly, AI is among the most helpful tool in your kit.

To help show you this and hopefully dispel any hesitancies about AI tools, here is a breakdown of how we used Surfer SEO and Jasper.ai to write this post!

Step 1: Complete Initial Research with Surfer SEO

The process of writing this post began in Surfer SEO's content planner.

We've been having great success with our content creation process lately and wanted to share some of the tools that have helped achieve this.

To determine whether there were any potential posts around this topic, we searched the keyword "content creation tools."

Upon doing this, Surfer returned 10s of keyword clusters associated with "content creation tools," providing search volumes and keyword difficulties with each cluster.

Immediately one cluster that stood out was AI marketing. Not only did it have sufficient search volumes, but the keyword difficulty was relatively low, meaning if we wrote about this topic, we'd have a fairly good chance of ranking for it.

Even better, two tools helping us write were backed by artificial intelligence, providing a perfect opportunity to discuss our content creation success through the lens of artificial intelligence.

And that was it. Surfer SEO makes it that quick and easy to determine what keywords to focus on and the most opportune content clusters to write about.

Step 2: Use Jasper.ai and its Machine Learning to Write Copy Efficiently

Once we had decided to write about AI marketing, the next step was to jump into Jasper and pull the "AI Marketing" keyword cluster into the program.

This is where the integration between Surfer and Jasper shows its value, as you can simultaneously benefit from the keyword research and topic cluster provided by Surfer while utilizing the artificial intelligence copywriting power of Jasper to create great content around those exact keywords and topic Surfer provided.

The actual process of creating the copy within Jasper can be rather complicated, and many people utilize different methods. Still, the process becomes relatively seamless once you get the hang of it.

In this case, we utilized a variety of templates, ranging from a "blog intro paragraph template" to the "paragraph generator template."

Regardless of the template, the general process is to provide Jasper with inputs, and he'll provide you with outputs (i.e. the copy).

For example, we provided the heading input of "What is AI Marketing," and Jasper provided the output you read earlier in this post!

Of course, we edit the copy, tweak things to fit our messaging, and add additional copy where needed, but Jasper completes the bulk of the work of just getting words onto the page.

Anyone that struggles with writer's block or appreciates a starting point to work from will understand how helpful and valuable this is.

This process of providing inputs, receiving outputs, and then editing the copy to our liking is repeated until we have the final post we're happy to publish.

Bonus: Include Blog Post in Monthly Newsletter Sent Via ActiveCampaign

We worked hard on creating this post and feel valuable insights are provided, so the next step is to share it!

We do this through our monthly newsletter, A Dose of Noetic, where we include our latest blog posts so our subscribers see the content we posted over the past month.

AI plays a role here, too. As we mentioned, our sending times to respective subscribers are based on AI crunching data to determine when they will most likely open our newsletter.

No one wants to spend hours creating content to have no one consume it. With optimized sending times, you ensure as many people as possible engage with your content, increasing the likelihood of your content achieving its intended purpose.

The Future of Artificial Intelligence Marketing

Regarding marketing, AI is already beginning to make its mark.

Thanks to customer data and predictive marketing analytics, AI is becoming increasingly adept at identifying customer needs and desires. And, as tools continue to develop, they are becoming more and more effective at creating targeted content that speaks directly to customer needs.

In the future, AI will only become more integral to marketing efforts. Indeed, some experts believe that AI will eventually play a key role in everything from customer service to product development.

As such, those who can harness the power of AI will have a significant competitive advantage. So, for businesses of all sizes, the future of artificial intelligence and marketing should not be ignored.

How to Get Started with Artificial Intelligence Market

If you're looking to get started with artificial intelligence (AI) marketing, you should keep a few things in mind.

AI = Highlight Personalized Content

First, AI can create highly personalized content and marketing messages.

Your content marketing campaign should target a specific audience, and your marketing messages should be tailored to each customer's needs and preferences.

You can begin by identifying your particular target audiences and determining their unique problems and the solutions you offer.

Then, draft copy that addresses these audiences directly. Utilize ai tagging and automation to ensure the right people are shown the right message at the right time!

AI = Improved Customer Experience

Second, AI can improve customer experience by providing interactive content, real-time customer support, and personalized recommendations.

For example, you can use chatbots to provide customer support or create interactive content, such as quizzes and polls, that engage your audience and collect valuable data.

You can also improve customer experience by utilizing predictive analytics to make recommendations to customers based on their previous interactions with your brand.

To start, determine where your audience interacts with you most and how they interact at that stage. Then, decide what forms of AI are most suitable for those interactions and are most likely to improve your customer experience.

You can repeat this process until all interactions are optimized, and the customer journey is as easy and seamless as possible!

AI = An Infant Technology

Finally, it's important to remember that AI is still in its early stages, so you must stay up-to-date on the latest developments to make the most of it. Just because a tool today is the best solution doesn't mean a better and more practical solution won't exist 6-months from now.

So, stay curious, and if something isn't working as well as you'd like, see if alternative options have come to market!

FAQs About Artificial Intelligence Marketing

As AI becomes more widespread, it's only natural that businesses would want to harness its power to improve their marketing efforts.

After all, AI can analyze large amounts of data quickly and make predictions about customer behaviour, something humans aren't particularly good at.

That said, adopting AI into your marketing strategy can feel like a daunting task. To help you get started, here are answers to some frequently asked questions about AI marketing.

What customer data can I use with AI?

Most businesses already have access to a wealth of customer data, including purchase history, demographics, and online behaviour.

This data can be used to train predictive analytics models that can then be used to segment customers and create targeted campaigns.

What are some common challenges with AI marketing?

One of the biggest challenges with AI marketing is data quality. For predictive analytics models to produce accurate results, they must be trained on high-quality data.

If your customer data is inaccurate or incomplete, it will likely lead to wrong predictions and subpar results.

Another common challenge with AI marketing is a lack of understanding of how AI works. As AI becomes more prevalent, businesses need to educate themselves about the basics of AI and how it can be used to improve marketing efforts.

Finally, another challenge that businesses may face is a lack of resources. Implementing an AI strategy requires access to data, tools, and expertise.

For many businesses, the upfront cost of adopting AI can be prohibitive. However, there are several free and low-cost tools available that can help companies get started with AI marketing.

Are there any risks associated with using AI for marketing?

As with any new technology, there are always risks associated with its adoption and use.

Regarding AI marketing, some risks include the potential for data breaches (if customer data is not secured correctly) and the misuse of AI-generated insights (if businesses use these insights to make unethical or harmful decisions for their customers).

What are some common AI tools for marketing?

Different artificial intelligence tools can be used for marketing, depending on your needs.

Some common options include chatbots, which can be used to engage with customers and answer questions in real-time; content generation tools, which can help you create personalized content for your customers; and predictive analytics tools, which can be used to identify trends and predict future customer behaviour.

What are the best free AI tools for digital marketing?

Several free AI tools can be used for digital marketing, including chatbots, content generation tools, and predictive analytics tools. However, it's important to note that free versions of these tools may be limited in functionality and features.

Paid AI tools usually offer more comprehensive functionality and support, but they may not be within everyone's budget.

Ultimately, choosing the AI tool that best meets your needs and budget is essential.

What are the best AI email marketing tools?

Several AI email marketing tools can be used to segment customers, create targeted content, and automate the process of sending emails. Some common options include Vero, Mailchimp, and ActiveCampaign.

Here at Noetic Marketer, we use ActiveCampaign, one of the most comprehensive and user-friendly AI email marketing tools on the market.
